Tubeless tyre

Formerly, tyres came with an inner tube. Today, however, inner tubes are no longer used since the join between the tyre and the wheel rim is completely watertight.

DOT code

The DOT Code begins with the letters 'DOT' followed by a plant code (two numbers or letters) that identify where it was manufactured. The last four numbers represent the week and year the tyre was built. For example, 3108 means the tyre was manufactured during the 31st week of 2008.

Reinforced

This reference is generally visible on van tyres.

Brand

Brand name of manufacturer's name.

Width and profile

195: Tyre width in mm. 65: Percentage of height relative to the width. In this tire, the height is equal to 70% of the width.

Structure and diameter

R: Radial structure. Nowadays, most of the tyres have a radial structure. 15: The diameter of the tyre’s inner rim in inches.

Load and speed

91: Load rating. It must be taken into account when fitting new tyres. H: Speed rating. The following table shows the speed ratings:
